i disconnected my battery, and when i hooked it back up, my trunk popped open. anyone else have this happen before?

Nope, and it shouldn't be related. I think the release hatch is mechanical (ie: cable release)

i know its not related, but i was outside the car with no one else around. just thought it was weird. i was like wtf....

Heh... i know in MS6... if you disconnect battery, you need to re-program your one touch windows or they won't work. Possibly something similar... but seems unlikely.

Quite unlikely...you would have to backdate to get the same trunk monkey that came in the MP3s. It was more of a prototype simian, the Mazdaspeed Pros got a slight different monkey, since there was more room with the deck lid mounted sub as opposed to the tube.
