I have an issue with the one bolt you need to take off for the shifter bushing install. It's completely rounded off, and now broken off in a few pieces, any suggestions on how to get it off? How about the size of the replacement stud/bolt? Any suggestions will be helpful. (flame) (pissed)

Yikes. I had trouble with my bushing install also. If you can avoid taking the bolt/stud thing out of the transmission casing, that would help. Some of the threads on the inside of my transmission casing were bent after taking mine out and made the bushing install last a good 5 hours.

Im not sure of the size of any of that stuff tho, just ask the parts department at a dealer to look it up to be safe.

*side note....dont be like me and not torque the nut down enough when finished. I lost the nut and washer on a 2-3 shift going about 35 at night, almost lost the bushing as it was just barely still on the stud. Use a little threadlock at least the nut (thumb).

Grind or cut the bolt in half with a dremel watch the washer and the bolt. Get a same size nut and try to fix the threads 2 in 1 out, repeat till you get the threads back and use wd-40 ... Good Luck

Jesus, what did that bolt ever do to you? That's barbaric. :D

I think your only option at this point us to get under there with a dremel and start cutting, unless you have a pair of vice grips that can hold on tight.

In the future, spray some pb blaster, hit it with a hammer, and then let it sit for a while before applying some torque.
