I'm leaving the forum. I traded my MSP for a Honda Insight. Since I'm driving a hybrid, I'm not going to waste anymore time/energy here with all you people that don't care about the environment. You should all clean up your act and stop only caring about yourselves. I'm sure all see all of you at point or another as I'm passing you at the gas station. Maybe one day when you're all as smart as me you'll join greenpeace and give up your polluting ways. Until then...
Chris

man you sound angry. i DO care about the environment. thats why i gave up my 16mpg truck for my 30 mpg mazdaspeed. eventually ill make it up to hybrid status. im a freakin architecture student. i take so many classes on sustainable architecture working with the environment and things like that. i dunno why you sound bitter about it, our cars do MUCH better than the majority of cars on the road with gas.

(enguard) It was a joke.... It's a cool concept, but I don't think hybrid will become a volume leader. Anyway, I felt guilty about losing my cats, so I planted two trees.

Another good April Fool's! I was going to point out that the SHO probably gets worse gas mileage than the speed.

Hopefully it doesn't merge with George Clooney's Academy Award acceptance speech. That would spell trouble for America's penis.

A ship coming into port for one hour pollute more than 350,000 cars. I assume that's more than 350,000 cars in one hour, but I'm not sure. I read about it yesterday.

I would so get a hydrogen combustion car if they can work out the fuel milage issue.

And I wonder if our cars can run ethonol? Supposidly there are several engiens that can run ethonol. im gonna try to look it up

well I meant in the future....theres only like 500 ethanol stations in USA and 2 in my area (central florida). It doesnt help that one is in cocoa near kennedy space center. and the other one by a airforce base (restricted). Most ethanol stations are in the midwest.

The ethanol issue is being sorted out now with atleast a few plants under construction. the one under construction in Louisiana will convert sugar cane by products into ethanol....which should boost production up. and Cali has another plant under construction. right now its only from corn and a few places can make enough ethanol. Seems like congress and the president are sponsoring the ideal along with ford, Daimler chysler, GM, Nissan and Mazda (ford). So the ideal is growing so that more money can be put in to build a nice infrestructure. Right now theres like 0 interest or 0 exposure. Hence why the ethanol commity is spending alot of moeny to educate the public. With sponsors in indy car and probaly NASCAR.

but doesnt really matter becuase how many people are going to put ethanol in their cars when you have to drive like 200 miles for the nearest fill up. And you get like 17 mpg on E85?

So needless to say its very impractical to run ethanol now but it is the future because alot of companies in america are begining to try and build a ethnal infrestructure in america. I didnt mean right this minute but maybe in 4-5 years ethnaol infrestructer will be good enough to where consumers will have a choice when they fill up at the local gas station.

Ethanol is just the transition fuel....the future is hydrogen. But hydrogen is liek 20 years from now as companies are trying to develop hydrogen fuel cells. Ethanol is right now and is better then hydrogen combustion (Mazda and BMW). So its a good starting point because ehtanol is not 100% clean like hydrogen....but its certainly cleaner burning and uses less gasoline.

The biggest issue is gas milage since nothing worth investing right now even has power of a gasoline combustion engine. Best part is very little modification is needed to run these fuels.

Man I'm glad you were joking. Hybrids don't make that much of an impact! Besides, you have to drive them for many many years before you actually begin earning any returns on the ammount of gas you save since they are so much more expensive....Not to mention ugly as crap. When they come out with a good looking hybrid that has at least 200hp, I MIGHT think its cool...
