If you don't recirculate or move the maf then you won't have stalling issues if you don't move the maf and VTA you are going to have stalling issues. Hardpipes and welding a flange is a better way to go to make sure you don't have stalling problems people have done it on here just search for something on it im sure you can find some good info that would tell you how to have it done correctly

it's really a much better idea to get hardpipes. and i suggest moving the mass airflow sensor somewhere between the throttle body and bov. we just got through doing this to phatmsp's (another forum user) car tonight.

aw man thats gonna be a bish...
i gotta cut the hardpipe enough to make the sensor fit, connect the CAI back on again... and it'll all be dandy right?
thats gonna be one hell of a bish...
somebody come over and do it for me...

naw, it ain't that bad....it isn't exactly easy but it can definately be done with the right combo of pipe bends and couplers :)

ok... i'll look into that before i buy anything...
so the MAF has to be 100% moved right... i can't jus leave it where it is and i jus weld the bov onto the hardpipe and keep it at that...
wat would happen? stalling? massive turkey?

if you kept the mass air where it is, and did hardpipes with the bov in the factory location, it will stall very bad (unless you recirculate). if you're doing hardpipes anyway, you can rearrange things and vta. here's a rough diagram of how we put things together...

hmm... so all i need is a bunch of plastic couplers and one metal one "for the flange" that connect from the throttle till the intercooler and in between i should have the maf and bov connected...
ok, if thats correct than its easier than i thought it'd be...
the CAI jus connects back to together or do i need a coupler for that so they'll connect...

use silcone couplers (not plastic), and make SURE to mount the maf closer to the throttle body than the bov. and you'll need section of pipe the same diameter as the coldair to fill the place where the maf used to be. phatmsp used 2.25" piping for the hot pipe, and a combo of 2.25 and 2.5 for the cold pipe. universal i.c. piping kits will do the trick, or just figure what bends you need and buy them individually. if you know your way around a car pretty well it's easy. if you don't have a good idea of how everything will work out, i wouldn't attempt it.
