Wow, mine is like 274 bucks.
Thats a nice chunck of change. I got 1200 back, but went through it in less than 2 weeks. Im not good with conserving money.

thats just stupid. Wouldn't you rather have $500 more a month and not let the government use your money? I just don't get why people want to have that big of a return.

You get a tax return because you overpaid on your taxes at some point during the year. I dont get exactly how it happens, but basically he just gave the government a $7100 interest free loan, and the government likes it when people do that, lol.

i had a kid this year. i got the earned income credit, child tax credit, and head of household. my return was only supposed to be $121 before we factored him and a couple of deductions from work.

I'm sorry. I just re-read my post and feel as if I came across a little 'short'.
congrats on the child! They are a nice tax break, now buy a house and finance your cars on a 2nd mortage equity! :)
Waht are we doing with $7100?
