Well I installed my K-sport coilovers today and I must say I'm a little unhappy. Don't get me wrong the quality of the coilover is great but because of the offset of my rims, my tires now rub in the back. So I raise it up so it doesn't rub and now its higher then when I had my ground controls in. So I either have to get new rims or roll my fender (but I don't think this will help). And no I'm not going to sell the K-sports and put the GC's back in.

The first pic is with the K-sport and the second is with the GC.

Any suggestions.

The rubbing of your wheels has nothing to do with the coilovers, like u said its your offset. Did your tires rub when u had the GC's on? and were these the same size tires?

....actually, the K-Sports have adjustable camber, correct? Try adjusting your camber.

No my tires never rubbed with the GC's thats whats so wierd about it. And I have the same tires as before.

I thought I only had camber adjustments on the front with these. I'll have to check with who I bought them from.

Yea, im thinking they only have it on the front. If anyone has anymore input, fill gen1pro in.......

Maybe the bottom base of the K-sports is not the exact same size as the OEM strut......it might be a couple centimeters off. Where the 2 bottom strut bolts go.....

How bad do they rub? Are spacers an option?

Haven't checked on spacers yet....I guess I could look into them.

You'll have to measure how much they're hitting the strut - and see if you've got that kind of space between the tire and fender. Also, you may need longer lugs.

(I know - nothing's easy).

The rear camber adjustment is an option. Front camber control is standard.

Also, get it aligned. That might help it out.

Only the first 3 sets imported to the US had rear camber adjustments (i got one of the three! yippe), so i wouldnt expect yours to have it unless you specifically ordered them that way. What offset are you running? Anything less than a +45 and your gonna have problems, I would run a +48 to be safe. I'm running +48 with a steep drop on Ksports and havent rubbed on anything yet.

The coilovers themselves shouldn't cause rub... Alignment makes sense, though, as installing the coilovers/uninstalling the previous setup probably changed some things. And don't spacers decrease offset?

Off-topic: Were you able to get that O-ring problem with the GCs fixed?

ok, I know your problem...although you dont have the top camber plate adjustment, the bottom of the base has an oblong bolt hole, if you pull it will give you + camber, hence your rubbing...if you push it, then you will get some - camber and voila no more rubbing.

So your saying to loosen where the strut attaches and I should be able to push it inward to give back some (-) camber....I'll give it a try, but I can't do anything until wednesday.

Yes I did get new o-rings but it actually ended up being the bump stops that made the noise. A little silicon fixed that.

I cant find a good pic...but what you want to do is loosen both nuts and grab the hub and tilt it inward from the top, it will give you about 1 to 2 degrees of (-) camber.

I ask because I need some new o-rings, too. Where did you get them and what size should they be?

Yeah I just called them and they sent me a crap load of them.

As for my current issue, I think I'm going to skip class tomorrow and try your suggestion Pirana.

Pirana....you my friend are the man. I did what you said and it worked like a charm. I was then able to put my car back to where I had it and even went just a little bit lower. I'll try to get some pics up later but for now I have to go to class.THANKS AGAIN Pirana

Well here it is now that I've lowered it again. Thanks to some advice from Pirana. I'm going to wait a couple of days and let it settle, then I'll fine tune it right before I get my alignment.

Little too low for my tastes. Any pictures of the K-sport install?
