View Full Version : FS: Ported 2.0L FS Head! Beautiful!

This beautiful piece of metal was ported in 10 hours by the owner of Haywood Custom Speed in Raleigh, NC. They are a shop that specialized in DOHC mustang work, so porting this head was exactly like porting 1/2 of a mustang motor. Randy (the owner) is known for doing some of the best port/polish work in the mustang scene, and he's local, so I gave him a ring and he did a great job. I paid $800 for this head (100 for the head, 700 for porting), and am not going to use it, because I can't safely run any more power with this transmission anyways on the racetrack.I'm very open to any and all questions, and can take more pictures if necessary. It has been thoroughly cleaned and acid-dipped, and is currently located in Blacksburg, VA.
and now, the important part: Pictures!

That looks good. P&P? what exactly will this allow by getting this done. Also, I might be interested. Where is it located?

The head's in Blacksburg, VA (go hokies!) right now, and could be in Raleigh, NC in 2 weeks if need be (meeting my dad for a Track day at VIR).
This will allow MUCH greater flow rates, allowing for lots more power and torque in mid-high RPM apps. In FI applications, this means more power at less boost, quicker spooling, and much greater peak power output. The head has not been polished; randy recommended that we not do that, he said compressed air seems to show better flow patterns when the surface is not perfectly smooth. Considering he makes REDICULOUS amounts of power with customer cars, I trust his word.

if you had been selling this a month ago, i'd have been all over it like soy sauce on chinese food.

03-17-2006, 02:27 PM
haha soy sauce....yeah.....
I'm measuring the port sizes, get back in a few.
You won't need oversized valves unless you choose to go that route; they were not unshrouded because I had planned to use stock valves. Valve stem seals are installed, and as far as I know, in good shape. I have some new ones I'll throw in, just in case whoever buys it wants to replace it.
What you'll need to complete the head:
valves, springs, locks, retainers, buckets, shims, head gasket, valve cover gasket, water distribution block gasket (I'll include one)...i Think that's it.
-Mateo
EDIT: intake ports measure 1.969" x 1.789" at the manifold
exhuast ports measure 1.760" x 1.121" at the manifold.
NOTE: as I understand, the sizes at the gaskets were not hogged out too much, as to allow the use of stock gaskets.

Don't mean to piss anyone off, just figured If there was that much interest, it would come down to people outbidding each other anyways, so that's it. Offer stands at 550 as of 3/17/06 1:30 PM

Well, it really doesn't matter to me. I was planning a small weekend getaway with some friends to South Carolina. the closer we drive, probably the better. I will need an address on whichever you choose.

right-o. I promised boostd that he got first dibs at prior price, since I had to kind-of pull a quick one on him. Hopefully that will work out again, but if it doesn't, it's up for sale to the general public.
