I'd really like to find a nice ES Manual, '01 or later. I've been looking all over these boards and all I've seen are P5s, MSPs, and a couple MP3s. If anyone sees any ESs for sale, please hit me up with a reply or pm. Maybe I'm just missing them. Thanks

P5 huh? I'm listening if you have some insights you think I should be aware of. They're a bit bigger than I'm looking for, but I haven't driven one.

its actually shorter than the sedan, just has the hatch. Otherwise its the smae car but looks so much better than just an ES....I liked them so much after I got my Mazdaspeed that the wife & I had to have one...

As said below...

The hatch makes it look taller and bigger, but its the same size car...get one!!

Yeah, I want one too now. It would be so much easier to throw my bike in the back of, etc, etc...someday! (but it will be M-A-N-U-A-L (poke)ok, I'm done ripping on the AT driver ;) )

Interesting. I guess it just looks longer because the back comes up high. I'll have to check one out and drive it.

Does it handle like the ES? I do like how the ES is more compact. I was originally looking to buy a civic coupe; that is until I came across the ES. The ES was the first 4 door I actually liked. And once I drove one, I was very impressed. Everyone and their mother drives a civic. There aren't nearly as many Proteges out there. I'm having a hell of a time just trying to find a nice ES manual. I have cash and am ready to buy!!! so frustrating.

lots of fun to drive. many people aut-x there P5's as do sedan owners. There is abundance of P5's for sale in FL so that wouldnt be a problem. Plus I just think the styling of a P5 is far superior to a standard ES. Definetly take a look at them.

I'm in St. Pete. I drove over to Orlando last weekend to look at an ES. Mechanically it was fine, but I didn't really like the color...kind of a champagne...not for me. Before that, the only one I found was here locally, a nice black one, but someone bought it earlier the same day I was driving back to town to buy it. Now I can't find any. I don't want an auto, or an lx or dx. I can't seem to find any nice manual ESs.

And as far as the practicallity of the P5; I think that's why I'm not really interested in them. I'm tired of driving my practical vehicle. I know the ES isn't exactly unpractical, but I happen to like them a lot better than the Civic Coupes, which is what I was originally looking for. The P5 is even further from my original search than the ES.

But who knows...I'm certainley not against checking the P5 out. Give it the 'ole college try.

If you don't care about the turbo, get yourself an MP3. That is, if you can find one. Where in Orlando did you look? I live here and I've seen countless proteges at used car dealerships on East Colonial 50. Have you looked at a Car Max yet?

I did drive down Colonial, but didn't notice any while driving buy places. I went over there to check one out at a place called McGuinness2. Wasn't real thrilled with that place so I walked. I couldn't find any online listings while I was over there either...just the one I looked at.

And no, I don't really care about the turbo. But I am interested in cruise control, which I understand is absent on the MP3.

Haha...no doubt. I'm sure it doesn't have to be practical.

Yeah, don't really care about the turbo. I just like the way they handle. I also love the styling Mazda's got going on...inside and out. They're subtle, but still have there own character. Very tasty.

I appreciate the link. Unfortunately, most of those are either automatic, or not an ES, or both. The MSP is really nice, but I'm looking to spend about 8k cash. The two ESs I've checked out were $6400 and $7400, 80k miles, and 50k miles respectively.

I would sell you mine but I am not local and pretty much would be out of your price range because I am upside down on the payments aas of right now. (stupid move on my part oh well live and learn) It is an 03 Sand Mica color, 5 spd, 17"wheels, 45,000 miles.

Sounds like a really nice ride...just what I'm looking for too. How "upside down" are you? If you were to sell it, how much would you list it for?
