alright here's the deal....got the 92 miata (1.5) fitted with the greddy turbo....

now, a couple of questions:

1st....is it really suppost to get that F$*$(&% hot??
2nd...purchased a BOV....and i don't really understand the nut on top (turn left for soft/ right for hard)...now if i'm just running it at 5-6 psi, where should i have it set....

went for a test drive and it wouldn't sound...(actually i don't think it was doing anything..."stuck")...and yes it is installed correctly

if you have myspace you can see a crappy pic of the car here: http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=50813687&imageID=548781519&Mytoken=126C8F1C-64F1-CF02-67E9C925240BDF7D49984856

if the BOV wasn't blowing, then loosen that nut on top.

test the car, if it doesn't, loosen some more. if the car starts messing up, you loosened too much, and should tighten it back up.

don't know about the hotness ..

start at softest then tighten it a turn or 2. then try it. if it goes off then its working right. if not then u have a problem (possibly not good vac source). u can tighten it from there if need to so it doesnt go off all the time or cause a leak.

im not sure what u mean by hot? but a turbo will make it really hot in there.

if the BOV was recirculating, you might not hear it at 6psi. I know I can't hear mine at all (I like the quiet..)

And yes, underhood temps of a turbo car get very hot. Make sure to protect the brake master cylinder, brake/clutch lines, heater hoses, and cables that are right up there next to the turbo.

Sweet. turbo miatas are the greatest. and like everyone else said, the turbo will make a lot of heat.

vented hood should help escape some heat.

I watch the heat pour out of my hood at stoplights through the vents.....I'm guessing it helps.

When it rains and I am stopped, it sometimes look like my car is overheating because all the rainwater gets turned into steam over the hood.

you guys should cherish the parts available for the NA. (cabpatch) There isn't a vented hood for the NB, as far as I am aware of.
