I am thinking of repainting my speed. It's getting kinda dull, and there's alot of chips from stones on the front bumper. I was wonderring if anyone knows how much it costs to get a repaint with the original Mazdaspeed Spicy Orange paint.

I recently repainted my Spicy Speed. Last September to be exact. The original paint is a 3 stage special factory paint. It will be expensive to redo this. I chose a 2 stage job that is easy on the eyes and was less expensive. You may have to contact Mazda to get the correct paint codes for this. Hope this helps...

OEM Spicy will be VERY pricey....its probably wayyy off but when i had mine painted the body shop 'said' a gallon was $500 of Blazing Yellow Mica...who knows BUT its a ROUGH idea.

Why not just clay bar the entire car, and put some fresh wax on it? That should brighten it up. Unless you haven't been waxing it, in which case, you deserve you car to be loosing it's luster.
A normal, decent quality paint job runs about $2000 (just for the outside) from what I hear. Add in the extra for the special Spicy 3 stage, I would guess $3000 for a decent job. I'm going to budget 2k for my Sunlight Silver MSP, but I'm going to go with a darker shade of silver. Something inbetween Sunlight Silver and Titanium.

Why re-paint your car the same color? If you are going to paint it then pick something not on a msp currently. Be different man. I would put a fresh coat of wax on it, buff it, and get it touched up somewhere to fill in the spots that have no paint on them. I would go that route because it is a lot cheaper and a better alternative.

As far as I know, being 1 out of 875 cars is different enough. Plus how many Spicy Orange cars do you see on the road? Maybe he likes the spicy color but the paint it fading. Sound like all good reasons to repaint the same color.

Yeah man, in my opinion the spicy orange is the nicest paint that you can put on this car. I will most likely use the Meguiar's paint cleaner to strip old wax and oxidization, then just wax it. I just bought the car used, and I don't think it was waxed very often. There is only one other spicy orange Mazdaspeed in my area so it's hard to compare because I rarely see him, but when I do I will compare our paint, because i'm not sure if mine is really that dull. I will be able to tell in the summer sun...when it comes.

Can anyone tell me if using the Mazdaspeed Spicy Orange touch up paint will be a good thing to use for touching up rock chips on my front bumper?
