Great name and a great shape should make for another terrific Italian sports car.
The 186-MPH Bizzarrini Quercianella: By the Time You Pronounce It, It's Gone

SOLNA, Sweden — It may start with a Q, but the name "Quercianella" does not exactly roll off the tongue like Quattrovalvole or Quattroporte. Nevertheless, Swedish company Laboratori Bebi selected it to honor legendary Italian designer Giotto Bizzarrini's role in the development of chassis and body for the new lightweight sports car, which is scheduled to make its debut later this year. Quercianella, Italy, is where Bizzarrini was born.
The Quercianella will be powered by a 2.4-liter V8 producing between 380 and 525 horsepower, mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox. The car will have a carbon-fiber semi-monocoque structure with steel subframes and composite crash structures. With a claimed weight of 1,157 pounds, the two-seater should rocket from zero to 62 mph in 3 seconds, with a targeted top speed of 186 mph.
Bizzarrini, the Italian designer with the unforgettable name, once worked for Ferrari, where he participated in the creation of the 250 GTO. He also developed the engine for the Lamborghini Miura. Later, he set up his own company, which made some highly exotic sports and racing cars during its brief existence in the late 1960s. In the early 1990s, news surfaced about a new Ferrari Testarossa-based Bizzarrini, but only a few prototypes were built.
It is thought that the Swedish company, Laboratori Bebi, is named after the 2001 concept conceived by Bizzarrini's son and exhibited as a model at the 2001 Turin Motor Show.
