my car Runs 10 psi no spiking at all stays at 10 the whole time, pretty cool. i had my MBC set for 10psi but it was spiking like a mofo lately (up to 15 psi) so i decided to take it off

how did you get your car to boost at 10 without a MBC or EBC? did you adjust the acuator rod?

Could be your actuator going out also. No way an fmic and exhaust will be good for 3.1 psi boost increase. Something is wrong. And 5 psi is not a spike, thats a kaboom waiting to happen. Hope you solve the problem. Good luck.

my autometer gauge reads 10psi, but it's actually at 8 (thanks to AFC's digital read out)

Depends on what vacumn source you hooked your boost gauge to. I remeber there are various bosot readings depending on which line you taped into.

I remember a kid here like taped into his FPR line...he was like boosting 24 lbs or comething like that...lol

did you read that little spring mod to get 2-3 extra PSI...maybe somethign like that happned to your car.

Why not just invest some money and buy an EBC, or do those "spike" as well?

Also, I have a FMIC, CAI, and Vibrant 3" exhaust and I only saw a 1 psi increase. It really isn't an increase at all, just relieving the turbo of that backpressure. I think your gauge is messed.

Nice avatar logo ... oh no, oh no, oh no ...... oh yeeeeeaaaah!

You could also do the spring mod for 2+ psi. I met up with OnRails last Friday and he has it done. He says it works much better than a MBC or EBC, which I would tend to agree with since it's mechanical. It's almost like having a external wastegate where you can just swap out springs for more or less boost.

I did this as well, been on there over a year now and never had a problem. Simple to put on (20 minute job or 2 hour job depending on which method you choose, choose mine it only took me 20 minutes including jacking the car up on stands and putting it back down), cost me $5 for a package of assorted springs, steady increase in boost, only slight spike around .5 psi, if the spring fails or breaks the car returns to normal because there is no altercations of the vacuum lines or anything. Corky Bell even listed it in his book!
