I have Denso IK20 sparkplugs and it's time to replace them (30000Km).
Did somebody try the IK22 (.032 gap and 1 step colder) on a NA P5 ?
Or did you try to gap the IK20 to .032 (originally .044) ?

Don't bother.

Get the regular NGK BKR5E-11 replacements if you want. All four NGK's cost less than 1 Denso.

I found the Denso's didn't really make a difference unless you drive near top speed all the time, and even then the differences are hardly noticable.

I am often in the 5000 - 6500 RPM range. I push the car hard.
Maybe I will see the difference but it is worth the try. Worst case scenario, I'll waste $10.
What about changing the gap to .032 with a long reach plug ... any benefits ?

What kind of benfits are you expecting?

More stable idle and/or better throttle response.

Just trying to do everything I can to smoothen the edges (even if we are talking explosions here) :) Just wondering if somebody found a recipe that works better.

When I changed from oem to Densos, I felt the difference. I am sure I'm getting a better spark and combustion.

I understand I will not be getting noticable HP gains with sparkplugs. Changing them regularly (every 10K for oem copper) is probably the best thing to do. With teh Densos, I stretched it to 30K.

Did somebody try the IK22 (.032 gap and 1 step colder) on a NA P5 ?I'm running 22s because most of my driving is at 70+. No problems.

I hear if you add stickers, it'll help you go faster.

Don't forget to wax them for maximum effect on HP gains (thought)

if your trying to smooth out idle wouldn't a ground kit be the way to go? i don't have one so i can't really comment on how well those work out

You are right. I have everything ready to do the install but I am waiting for winter to go away. Only 1 month left ...

my iridiums seemed to smooth things out and besides they don't need to be changed for like 100,000miles

DENSO advises replacement after 30,000 miles.
NGK is not clear but they suggest to replace them according to car manufacturer recommendations.

My Denso tips were "slightly" burnt enough to increase the gap a bit. And according to Denso you're not supposed to gap these plugs.

You can try if you want. It's your money.

Oh and I had Magnecor 8.5mm Race wires with these. No difference at all with any plugs.
