View Full Version : I found these living in my trunk what are they?

There are smaller ones underneath that dont have grooves, and i tried to match them with the roof rack but they dont look like they go there WHAT ARE THEY???:)

Yep, they are the roof rack inserts. You just got to give them a good smack and they will go in.

those are an easy way to make about $40 if you like having the roof rack on.

What do i have to remove besides the crossbars to put um on cause when i lined them up the seemed huge :)

PS: Nothing on my car seems to fit :(

I'm glad you asked this question! I just bought my P5, saw those in the trunk and thought, "What the heck are those??"

Now I can sleep at night.

On the front you just need to take the bar off, the back there's 2 plastic pieces at either end that need to be removed as well. also the little metal piece that slides back and forth needs to come out. I also had to take the metal clips off the plastic pieces that came off and put them on the filler caps. hope that helps...

Wow, I got scared when I saw the pic. I thought that this came in all p5s and I just bought some fillers but I guess my 2002 doesn't have them which is a sigh of relief for the most part.

When I bought my car I found mine in the trunk as well. I tossed them in the garage thinking huh.....oh well I dont know what the hell they are. If it werent for this post I probably would never had known.
