GT-spec Trunk Cage. Do we really need the rear strut bar?

I just got my GT-spec trunk cage and had it installed yesterday morning. I had to take out the sub to make space for the rear strut bar. But is it just me or we dont really need it. Because I think the sub-box's mount position is better than rear strut bar. Plus it use total 2 bolts on each side.

Sub. I decided I wanted to keep my amp rack and have the trunk cage minus this piece (on it's way - not installed yet).

I think I want to do the same thing. ( After I already installed the trunk cage!!! (bang) )

P.S. they dont come with manual, so you need to learn from the pictures on how to install.

You well need the cut the plastics pieces, be careful with that.
