View Full Version : Pics of my F'ed Turbo!!!

I took off my manifold/turbo/s pipe to reveal my actual wastegate not the actuator is messed. Included is two pics showing the disc getting caught against the casting. Keep in mind the actuator is in closed mode and there should be no gap around the wastegate at all. Talk about the gayest ever. I have no warranty to back me up. I'm not sure it would stop working properly. The exhaust escaping out of the unclosed wastegate caused the slow spooling. The car only ran fine at full boost where the wastegate is supposed to be open. Enjoy the pics. Hope this happens to nobody else. Thanks, Joe.

I'm not exactly a photographer sorry. But I was hoping the blurred image would get the point across. I will keep the details to myself but I got the valve to open and close freely without any sticking or rubbing issues before and after I put the actuator back on. The car is put back together except for my radiator which I put a little gash in turning a wrench on the oil line. It's being welded up as I post. A $50 lesson learned. Can't wait to get it on the road probably tomorrow to see if it runs like it should.

Hope it works well!

KY lube. The kind that heats up with friction. You know exactly what I'm talking about
