is that guy an idiot? an engine code is related to something that has gone wrong with the engine, specifically a certain sensor. just installing a greddy boost controller will not make your check engine light turn on. I would swing by an Pep boys or autozone and see if they can read your code for free. they usually do a free reading for you. or take it to a dealer and have them look at it.

I second that. Get the code scanned for free at AutoZone, then post it here. Is the car running OK?

no the car feels like its boggling in idle... it runs but then it cuts off after a while, also when you have it in idle its dropping below one and if feels like its about to cut off but it doesnt...

so wait a minute, you paid a guy to put on a boost controller. Then a check engine light came on and he said its because greddy has never put a boost controller on a MSP. ahaha tell this guy he is a certified idiot.I hope you at least hooked up a boost gauge. I only hope he didnt put your car into boost, anything more than 7-8psi with stock everything else leads to zoomzoomboom very quickly, and even if the motor is not detroyed it could have had its life signifigantly shortend, and may never run right again. i would make the shop compresion test your motor and get it diognosed for free or you will start telling people not to go there. maybe give a handout to anyone who walks in their store explaining what they did to your motor. A vac leak will not always give a CEL. I can go and completely disconnect vac lines to the IM and turbo without a cel coming on. A leaky IC pipe is a different story.

^^^
i agree... a simple vac leak will not usually give you a CEL. although, you may feel the stalling or bogging. i remember the plastic nipple on my turbo to intercooler hose ripped off and created a huge vac leak. No CEL ever came on.
did you get the code read yet? you can narrow it down after you get it checked.

Those guys hacked up your vac system, come by my house during the day and we'll get it fixed. The thing that caught me by surprize most was that they capped of the bpv. How is it suposed to open if it doesn't even have a vac source. dumb asses, even pissed me off. Well come by my house during the day when we have light and I'll fix it for you. They pulled the vtcs vac line for the b/c LOL now theres someone I'll never take any car to not even for tires.

yeah I don't know about that. it was too dark when he got to my house abnd it was raining. we put the bpv back into a vac source since it was capped of and the car kept from stalling so that helped for the medan time. I t had some wicked turkey before at like no rpm shift or let go of the gas and you hear a gobble. well we made plans to keep working on it wed tomorrow so well see what happens.

Ok guys, all of us where wrong. I also thought boost leak cracked factory line or something. What it turned out to be was the they disconected the map sensor that sits on the pass side strut tower. He said that was the factory boost controler. He said he spoke to greddy and they told him to disconect that in order for the boost controler to work. What morons, I think greddy would know that it just needs to be put inline from the wastegate actuator. I don't believe the techline would tell him that (did he call?). We just pluged that in, gave it a vac source and reset the light. We drove the car for a few miles and it drove good. The check light would just come on a sec after I reset it before we pluged that in so I think everything is good now. so I found another friend from the forum.
