Im looking for some who have the unichip installed, did you just place the switches on the dash, where the dim switch is installed??? I'm going to be installing the chip this weekend as long as the weather gets warmer and i was looking for some heads up info. Anything you can let me know about thats not in the installation guide please feel free to let me know. I will be installing a hiboost fmic also, should i wait and install the fmic first or will it matter? I am also going to get the car tuned obviously. Unichip emailed me back and i got the name of a guy that works for Altered Atmosphere Motorsports (www.alteredatmosphere.com) quoted me $385-$485 for a dyno and tune. I think that is a really good deal, besides thats the closest shop that is Unichip certified. Which i will do the first day i have off after everything is installed. I do need to order a Wideband A/F gauge as well, any recommendations?

Thanks

Go to the subforum "MSP Car Audio & Electronics," and search for the thread titled "Unichip Users: Where did you put the switches?" It details where I put the switches and has a few photographs of them. The installation of the switches took several hours.

I found the Unichip installation instructions to be unusually good. I suggest that you read them over several times before you begin the installation, as they are quite detailed. It took me about 3-4 hours to install the Unichip unit, but I typically take things nice and slow.

Good luck.

dude, i never noticed that little pocket under the light dimmer until someone pointed it out in a pm to me. i still havent seen it for myself because i havent had my car for some time, and this is the first time i've actually seen it. i still cant believe how i never noticed it. i hated having to put my change in the cup holder

Hehe......i forget i have stuff in there sometimes. But holding change may not be a good idea though......if i accelerate too fast, whatever is in there usually slides right out and falls to the back :) .....well, at least mine does.

mine is stuffed in my glove box. i don't switch it ... so there's no need to mount it all nicely.

your paying way too much for the dyno and tune dude, you could buy an mpi tuner and extra injector setup and tune it yourself for that price!

with your mods i wouldnt even mess with the tune. some users on here have had it dynod and were very impressed with the standard tuning maps applied to a msp with all the bolt ons. thats a lot of money you could put somewhere else

i have just a intake (cai) and a unichip should i just keep it at low boost on map A or can i switch to map B

or should i wait for my corksport exhaust to switch the A to B and switch it to hih boost?

It's not going to make that much of a difference.. You will be fine on either map.

Just keep an eye on the boost gauge though (that goes for anytime though, not becuase you don't have exhaust).

Those exhaust systems are out of stock right now FYI.

I did 248hp, 219ft/lbs (crank) with CS Exhaust and Injen Intake with the Unichip.

I'm not sure where I am at now however.
