its a long story, but to make it short, what would be better and more reliable as time goes by. painting my wheels(not stock wheels) with a good number of clear on it, or powercoating them? thanks

Powdercoating without a doubt.
powdercoat. Ive had my rims painted now for almost a year. 4-5 coats of black paint. 4 Coats of clear. Not spray paint. Car paint. They still chip, and especially when you get a flat and need a new tire put on. It sucks. I need to repaint mine soon.

When I had my srt I painted the wheels with Duplicolor wheel paint. To tell you the truth it held up fine but you have to put the time into each wheel to get optimum results.

powdercoat because it is 10x more durable than paint

It doesn't have to mean spraypaint. When I had a friend paint mine with gloss black car paint with a paintgun, every single person that saw them asked me were I got them powdercoated. Thats how I met Cwill. He came up to me at a local meet and asked me where I got them powdercoated. I said Its paint. And he couldn't believe how good they came out. You can do a good job with paint and make it look just as good as powdercoating. But its still not as durable.
Sandspeed can tell you that my painted wheels came out perfect.

Go with powdercoating, i painted my wheels and they hold up ok till i get my tires changed. They have a few chips and scratches on them. Im getting them powdercoated as soon as i find an old stove that i can use to bake them. (thumb)
