I got unichip installed...real easy probally took us like 1-2 hours.
But I have a problem.
Its holding boost really well and pulls hard. No mysterious spikes. But in with boost controller on it hits fuel cut really quick. With stock boost (boost controller off) its not hitting fuel cut. This is on MAP A. I cant really go past midthrottle without the car hitting fuel cut.
I cant figure out whats wrong...I just have a intake, Apex 2.5 inch DP w/high-flow cat, Custom's SMIC, Hardpipes...and thats it.
I know this is the right map because I confired the MAP number with unichip.
BTW no CEL so I dont think im maxing out the ability of the MAF. And since Professor here in Orlando is running similar mods. He seems to be doing fine. I doubt its any of my mods that is causing the problems.

Semi figured out.
I switched between boost controller off and boost controller on while idling. Which I thought wouldnt affect it since its just boost and not maps. Anyways I tried turning the car off and switching maps and it holds 9psi with no fuel cut.
Now when I had boost contoller on on the fly it would spike at 13 psi and not bleed down that much...maybe to 11-12 psi...hard to tell in BARs. Now it like 11 psi and bleeds to 9. Sp possible that extra PSI is what sparked fuel cut?

Thats what I orignally thought since last night was semi cold...not too cold. Maybe 70ish?
But today its like 80s/90s...and it still hit fuel cut. its beach weather. So I figured after reading it must be that switching from high boost to low on the fly is okay. But switching from low to high on the fly/idling is not okay.

eh got off the phone with Josh at unichip. And he says switching on the fly shouldnt be a problem.
Says its the downpipe might be the problem allowing boost to build up in a different manner and spike differently. Suggested that I get a custom tune. only place in FL right now is Japtrix. but he mentioned titan might be getting classes. Which is great becasue my good friend works there and I like hangout at titan.

Maybe you should just use a MBC and not hook up the EBC that comes with the unichip, thats what I think im going to do. When I had my MBC set to 12psi i would hit fuel cut at WOT. I had a feeling that the unichip would cause it to boost a little higher than 12psi specially if you have other mods on it that arent tuned into the pre-set maps. I dont see why there would be a problem running unichip with a MBC setup instead of the EBC. If anyone knows anymore info about that setup let me know!

why is that? The unichip boost controller is good. and is not spiking at all. it does exactly what its suppose to do. spike 12 and bleed to 9 psi at redline.
If you have your MBC arent you afraid your going to lean out at redline? Becuase the unichip is suppose to boost 9 psi 5000 rpm to redline. if your boosting 12 near redline when the unichip is delivering 9 psi worth of fuel...you are fubar.
now if you do the opposite and set the MBC to 9PSI you would hesitate at lower RPM from running too rich because unichip was orignally suppose to boost 12 psi at lower RPMs. So its delivering enough fuel for 12 psi but you are only boosting 9 psi. which mean you are running rich at low RPMs and thus it will hesitate. like the MSP stock ECU when it came fromt he factory. it was too rich and thus it hesitated and boged....thus Joe P introduced FPR to reduce fuel and lean it out a bit. unfortunately it leaned it out too much at higher RPMs where you want to run rich to prevent detonation and knocking.
If anything you should get a EBC and program boost according to RPM. the unichip to my understanding was tuned to spike at lower RPM and bleed to 9 psi towards reline becuase the stock fuel system does not flow enough fuel to support 12 psi all the way through. plus a EBC can prevent boost spikes alot better then any MBC can. the computer can measure if a spike is going to happen and adjust accordingly. a MBC is just a valve you can buy at home depo that has 1 setting throughout the whole RPM range.
