What options would you like to see on the MS3?

From the pictures, I don't see turn signals on the side mirrors and I wish they'd at least give us that option.

Judging from what's listed here (after clicking on the "Visit Auto Show" button)

http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/displayPage.action?pageParameter=upcomingMS3&bhcp=1

it appears they will offer two options. A Navi system and a Grand Touring package which includes the Bose audio system, auto wipers/headlights, trip computer and an mp3 player jack.

As to what I would like to see...definitely a sunroof (probably removed for chassis regidity reasons and/or cost) and maybe a bluetooth cell phone system included in the Nav unit (and yes I know, that's a pretty unrealistic hope for a car in price range/class).

Tell me about it Zoom.

Sedans > Hatch

But the car looks nice too.

I'd like some other wheel options too.

same seats...but with leather...in a couple color options. Expand upon the black/white leather option available on the MS6.

It better have a moonroof option and cruise control.

I hope they offer two base cars, the normal Speed and a GT, like the MS6. This gives us po' folk an little less expensive option. Not to mention unless they do faux suede, I wouldn't want leather anyway. I do hope they would both get the seats.

I'd go for a baseline option as well.
I'm one of those guys that loves LIGHTWEIGHT, fast hatches , and don't want a lot of options.
All I really ask for is great 2 tone cloth recaro seats(I hate it when leather sticks to my ass in SOOOOO hot Florida), with as little extra crap as possible.
AFAIK, baseline comes with side airbags, abs, and a lot of other great goodies!
oh and of course another color option, since I've had nothing but bad luck with red cars(6 different accidents ALL in red cars at a complete dead stop).

A sedan version would be nice. I am a hatch guy, but I root for you too!

Me as well. I wanted a sedan so bad.

In Dash MP3 player option, not some stun ass MP3 player jack. What a horrible "fix" that is.

Sunroof....come on, save me the excuses, just put the damn sun roof in it already.

Leather seats/power

HID's ( for Canadians too!)

Optional Wheels because the stock ones are almost hideous...again. Mazdaspeed has some nice wheels out but they are all 17's except some 18" RX-8 ones.

I won't say AWD :)

I will pretty much just echo this. I really want the seats I have seen in the MPS in my 3 though. I love them

heated seats/mirrors...moonroof...and the bluetooth cellphone detect for the stereo/mp3 player would be sweet it can't be that expensive...

I'd like to see it come with the rims shown on the Mazda3 (pg 11) and MS6 (pg 18) of this catalogue: http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/pdf/brochures/2006_mazdaspeed_brochure_acc.pdf

base model is just fine for me.. nothing in it except a cd player, i hope bose system all around with 10" sub for stock.. but ive really gotten acustom to the leather seats in my g/f's cobalt SS supercharged.. makes driving alot more comfortable for some reason than in my 3.. and yes i agree with the rest on here.. it needs a sunroof.. please.. mazda we beg you! sunroof please! awd doesnt matter to me.. fwd just keeps cost down a little bit.. ill spend some money for rear sway bars, motor mounts and strut bar to handle better than pay 3-4000 extra for awd..

I wouldn't mind a sunroof option for those of you that want them, but for a baseline I hope not. Personally I don't care for them.

I Agree with motormounts. the Mazdaspeed already comes with larger front and rear swaybars along with a coilover system, so that's already included in the pricing.

i guess you kind of have to look at it at mazdas point of view.. build one model that can only be bought in one body style, especially high performance.. i might be wrong but i cant think of any specific high performance vehicle other than the WRX that was made in 2 different body styles.. EVO, STi, SRT-4, Civic SI (although they produced hatch at one time and then switched to sedan for this year).. id assume it would take much more time and money to develop another body style for a vehicle that is meant for performance.. but then again, i dont work for mazda corp. so i dont know what they think when they dream up these cars..

Oviously more expensive cars, but Audi S4 and RS4 and BMW M3 are 3 cars that come to mind immediately... let's see if I can think of any others...

it just seems to be the case here though... in japan they have their 4 dr integra type r, 4wd camrys and civics... pretty much 1/2 the cars come in either 2 or 4 wheel. its pretty crazy. when they say different trims its not just cosmetic/aesthetic upgrades like here (dx, ex, xle, le etc) its like a whole different car. they need to brind those here...

something that my dealer told me.. might be credible.. might not.. the reason they chose the hatch was because of its handling and rigidity.. now i dont know how the sedan is compared to the hatch.. but this is what i was told and maybe one reason why mazda chose the hatch model over sedan.. does anyone know the selling numbers about which sold better? 3s sedan or hatch?

Stupid BS salesman. Actually it is the other way around. Because of the trunk, the sedan has quite a bit more rigidity. You get the extra bracing with the C-pillar, the lid of the trunk and the rear deck. I believe the sedan sold much better than the hatch but that was predicted. It is not about volume, its about market. It comes down to who the key target is for the Mspeed. Say it is men 20-28 wanting a performance sedan but with the versatility of a 4-door, say for maybe a child seat. What do they want? When in development, the hatch is what their research led them to believe that would be the more lucrative choice. You notice too that the original tuner crowd is finally have children and that versatility is much more important now while still wanting a sporty car. Most of the new sport compacts come in a 4 or 5 door. 07 Civic Si (4 door), 07 GTI (5 door), 07 Sentra SER (4 door), 07 Caliber SRT (5 door) and of coarse our favorite 07 MS3 (5 door). Anyway, this was a solid business choice and I think it will sell well. I hope to get one and I would have preferred a sedan, but when it comes down to it "it is what is inside that counts" ( I know, a little cheesy)
