Anyone on here ever heard a sparking like noise when the fan kicks on?
Seems like the idle does weird things as well when my fan kicks on, runs rough.
Any truth to the grounding kits I see for sale?

Sure its not the a/c compressor clicking on?

hmmm, good question. Guess I ought to check that out as well. I know that I haven't turned the a/c on since I bought it (40 and cloudy in the good ol PNW!). Is there something I need to know about the compressor engaging when NOT turned on?

If you have the selector knob in the defroster mode it cycles the a/c compressor.

checked it and it doesn't appear to be the ac compressor. I usually have the rotary blower knob in the defrost/lower vent position. I did notice however that at night, while driving, the lights dim momentarily and then get brite again, so I'm assuming that something is pulling a sizeable draw or I have a bad ground somewhere. Guess I'll tinker more with it later on this weekend. If anyone else, including you zoom, has any more ideas, please feel free to make suggestions.
thanks,
-Chris

The a/c compressor will cycle on in that position also. The fans coming on will make a clicking noise too as it is powered by a relay. However most of the time it's people hearing the a/c compressor clutch clicking on because they have the hvac controls in defrost or floor/defrost mode. The lights dimming is normal, it is a big draw on the system. Grounding kit isn't going to do squat. A bigger battery may help though.

AHHHH....got it! Guess I'm just being new car paranoid! (boom07). That makes alot of sense also in that when the driving lights are off, it doesn't do it.
Any suggestions on a bigger/better battery?

optima red or yellow tops are popular choices.
