My mods are in my sig. Im putting aside ~$300 (give or take a little if need be) from my tax return to play with. I'd like to see what you guys think would be the best route for me to go. I'm strictly looking at performance/drivability mods.

I already voted for the AFC myself, but I was hoping to find it on sale somewhere.

I would say that you should get a FMIC but I know that your looking to get Corksports so I would say Engine Management or maybe a Intake Manifold. IDK.

i'd get the afc, or save for a diff. It's damned expensive as I've found out the hard way. But toys for the car are so much fun.

Thanks for the vote! I am pretty sure I am going the AFC route since I will get more out of it with every mod, plus gain drivability and gas mileage. I figure that 8 psi with my mods and the AFC will be just right for getting around town. I doubt I will even be pushing huge numbers in this car since the labor cost for internals would kill me.

The diff has been replaced with the revised one. I don't drag race or launch hard, so if the diff is going to go, it will be from turning hard.

If you don't think you will be pushing hard numbers, which I'd assume is <250hp, I would recomend saving another $185 and get CustomMSP's SMIC. I just installed mine last weekend, and all I can say is it rocks. There is no power loss during driving whatsoever.
I have the AFC also, and you can't go wrong with either one. Especially now that there are more of us that have it and are developing new maps for it. It would be a good time to get one. I mean if you aren't going to boost more than 10-12psi then you could get away with a SMIC.

thanks for the comment, but I'm pretty much dead set on the CS FMIC over an SMIC. I'm sure that Custom's SMIC is great, but I want to replace all of the pipes, and after doing that the cost is up to the cost of an FMIC kit anyway. Besides, CS offered a good discount if you registered your email address with them to be notified when the FMIC is released.

i think i'd want all those, but for the time, i think the AFC is probably a good choice.

an msp w/ proper tuning is one mean sonuvabitch. and if/when you finish the exhaust and upgrade the IC, just retune the AFC and be on your way.

Yep, that's what I was thinking. Tuning first since it will help each step of the way. Eventually I will have the DP and FMIC anyway.

They didn't send me one yet, either. They said that they will send a discount code to everyone that registered once the FMIC is released. Even for the people that don't get the code, HorspowerFreaks will have it on sale.

i say get the corksport s+j. the dsm afc is great, but it's limited in what it can do.

I am waiting for a reply on Petec's "FordChips" flash solution. His shop is right near me, so I'm hoping that it will be available soon. That would be the only thing that could trump the AFC for me at the moment (if it alters timing).

well if you have future plans for the car a WB and the afc. I think the IM will be the best bang for the buck short term but in the longer run a WB and afc would do alot. With the IM and the afc a bit later down the road you will be making the most out of your mods.

Unichip or some type of EMS that controls timming and fuel.

DSM AFC if your tight on money. some control over fuel is better then none.

just insatlled unichip and drove to Tampa for a Mazda meet...got 220 miles on half tank of GAS!!#@$!@#

And it pulls pretty hard on hiboost with no problem. A/F looks great...no boost spikes or creeps. Best mod so far!
