91 B2200 head interchangeable with 86 B2000?

is a 91 B2200 head interchangeable with 86 B2000 head? some guy at my job needs to know. also he said theres something that wont let him switch into reverse (its an automatic) but he said it's not the actual transmission but something else..

Ok he said no they are not interchangeable because the 86 head has manual lifters, where as the 91 has Hydraulic.

He's not really familiar with the Autos but said to check the shifter linkage from the shifter (underneath) to the transmission.

he said he's pretty sure about the head.. also said that 86 was the only year for manual lifters 87 is interchangeable because they have hydraulic.
