Hello and welcome to the forums. :D
Anyways, do you have any mods on the car right now? Do you have the boost turned up?
When you say cuts out, does it feel like you hit a wall for a brief second ?

It's normal. If the true power of the car was released you would break your neck.

yes i do but just a greddy exhaust and injen intake and the boost isn't turned up. i don't even know what the factory set boost is. It cuts out and regains power shortly after. And yes it's exactly how you say... hit a wall for a brief sec.

Sounds like fuel cut. The car is saving itself.

you dont really want to "fix" it .Its cutting fuel so you dont pop your motor

if it's saving itself why does it just pause and regain power? i don't even let off the gas and it just continues where it left off (power wise).

Where are you located?
If it does all the times it might be hesitation.
Otherwise fuel cut.

your CAI is probobly making it happen at warmer temps than the factory intended to hit fuel cut. Fuel cut is there to save your motor from damage. Get a JoeP Fuel Cut Denser and run your car with a WB AFR gauge to make sure you are not detonating, or get a DSM AFC, or just take off your intake and see if that helps.

have you put a boost gauge on the car to confirm that your wastegate is malfunctioning?

what do you mean man? before my car was flashed i had a drop in power from the 3700-4800 range and then the turbo would kick in like crazy from 5500 to 6500, now with the flash i have smooth power all through all the rpms

it doesnt completely rid the car of hesitation
PlatinumMSP
03-01-2006, 04:33 PM
yeah but it gets rid of the majority of it, I added an Injen CAI and it smoothed it out even more, i bet with an exhaust the hesitation will be almost non-existant

eh, I still have some hesitation w/ my exhaust...we'll see once I get the FMIC & relocate the MAF

Get a fuel cut elim from joe P if you really dislike the fuel cut, but don't complain if/when your engine pops.
