alright this is your lucky day. i have actual useful information on this.
there is a Thule rack for the 3. i have one and i bought it last year so i know they still make it. I bought it from the rackwarehouse.com. Also i just learned that Mazda in europe (and maybe in canada, i am not sure) offer a stock rack system that goes right on the rain gutters. The thule system clamps on to the door.
I dont know the prices, but this is a good point to start.
my Thule rack (the whole thing: feet, bars, fairing and 4 ski clamps) cost me us$350.

lol
alright. i dont have part numbers for those but if you call those guys at rackwarehouse.com they will help you out. they are local to me so i just went to the store and picked it up.
Yeah the feet doesnt clamp to the door but to teh door frame. they have rubber so it wont scratch your paint and it wont slide. You dont even need tools to install it, it comes with everything you need.
I am attaching a few pics so you see how it looks, and maybe you get the idea on how they clamp.

oh yeah it works fine with the sunroof. the clearance of the bars is quite high so its not a problem.

How is the wind noise with the racks on? I know the fairing helps but is there still a big difference? I hate any sound other than my exhaust, wheels or system while I drive.

i hope you never need studded snow tires... i just took mine off and its like i am driving a different car, its so nice and quiet!!!!!!! (except for the 80db of mind numbing music lol)

Ninja- the noise is very acceptable. It definitely increases once you go over 80mph. and if its windy it definitely makes a little whistling nopise, but you will be worrying more about your car sailing with the wind than the noise it makes. For some reason it has been a really windy season out here and i have had to be very careful with my speeding in highway, i was zooming with the wind, side to side. not cool at 80mph. Other than that, it makes less noise or as much as studded snow tires.

Tsunami, you already took your snows off? you crazy hick! lol
it just snowed here yesterday, and they salted the road. Now they are just salting anytime cause they want to spend their full budget this winter, or they would get a cut next winter. im not putting my summer wheels until they stop that nonsense.

wait! that's Candian dollars! ;)

and somewhat more serioulsy, some folks prefer roof racks to look more integral, not obviously bolt-on like the thule's
