Hi everyone, im new here, got a mazdaspeed a few month ago. Just yesterday i was riding when all of a sudden my car buckled really hard and it keeps doing everytime i go in WOT. The boost gauge goes past 10psi so my guess is that its the wategate actuator since i see alot of people are having problems? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

your boosting way too much..........Your car is pretty much saving your ass from blowing the motor. You need more supporting mods than just turning up the boost.......larger injectors, ems, etc..

Its not that im boosting it myself, i dont even have a boost controller, thats why im asking if its a possibility that the wastegate actuator is faulty.

Contact "Low_psi"......hes located an aftermarket wastegate actuator for our cars for a great price, and there much stronger than the stock ones. The other protege guys from texas have been buying them i believe, theres are going out too :)

I just replaced my actuator, I was having the same problem although I just got a replacement from Mazda. Car pulls great now, no more fuel cut!!

Interesting... 9-15psi spring (option). Fitment guide says for T3/T4 etc... doesn't say the GT25. Will this work on our turbo?

I just bought a msp too, it's cutting out pretty bad. how much does the actuator/ install cost? It does it thru all the gears only at full throttle though. Could it be the ECU? i specialize in hondas, not mazda's so i know nothing about the car, or turbos for that matter. What else can i do to it? it has Injen intake and greddy exhaust.

it's like $300 something at the dealer. Not including the install.

Just because your hitting fuel cut does not mean your actuator is screwed.

Search.

but because he is boosting at 10 psi without a boost controller could possibly mean a bad actuator ... i know i had a friend who thought it was nothing and starting peaking at 18 then blew a hole in the side of the block

I dont suggest boosting above stock boos unless you have somethign to control fuel

yes go to the dealer. there were MSP with bad acutators. there should be a fix.

My tech told me the diapgram on the wastegate had holes in some MSP. So he has a stock of wastegates and to contact him if I have weird boost spikes.

Now he said if you havnt had the boost spike problem you probally wont get it since it was like a bad batch of wastegate actuators.

So...who knows at what engine RPM would Fuel Cut commence on the MSP?
