OK - So like most of you probably originally thought, having such a limited edition car would make its value stay high and make it an easy sell. Wrong. I've been trying to find a good buyer for mine for over a month and have had NO success. After missing out on a great deal on a 350z, and now another possible one on a g35 coupe (the two cars I'm set on buying to replace this) I'm starting to wonder if it's ever going to happen. Dealerships have offered me anywhere from 6-10 grand for mine for trade in, which I find ridiculous and offensive to say the least. I'm advertising it on auto trader and my local paper for $15k flat and haven't had a SINGLE call. What are you all doing to increase your chances of selling these things as it seems they are a harder sell than I had anticipated. Ebay doesn't seem to give ya much more than 10 or 11 from what I have seen, am I doomed?

park the car near a high school with the forsale sign in the window. write "Turbo" in big bold letters, I guarantee you'll have 5 calls within a week.

how many miles do you have on it? I paid 15,9k brand new for mine, 15k is alittle high for a used one.

Depends on the market. I paid 15K 4 months from a dealer but knew very little about the community. Any mods should be considered a even draw on a used car like this one. Having somebody else wrench on your car before you purchased it is always kinda a PITA. I am still dealing with some stupid stuff the PO of my car did.

They did offer some nice discounts on these things new.... man I wish I knew about these cars / had money back then.

You aren't doomed, if you are realistic with your expectations

If I were you I'd ask more like $13k (depending on mileage) and maybe negotiate down to $12-12.5k

If you let a person negotiate even a little, they'll feel better about their purchase

Nope totally bone stock except some tasteful overlays on the front/rear lights. 45k miles as I drive a lot for work within the city. The dealership I wanna negotiate with today originally only offered me 10k for trade in. They have an 03 g35 coupe in white with everything but navi. KBB on it is 31k I got them down to 26 with or without that trade in consideration... So tempted to go buy it and then hope to god I can sell my car in the next 30-90 days...

I just Totaled my MSP 03.5 and may want it depending how much my insurance goes up now. 15k is a bit much though. I got mine 3 weeks ago for $14500 and it had 28k miles on it. The other one I wanted to get had 4000miles, yes 4k and that went for 15500. Depending how much insurance gives me, I may be interested in your car for the right price.

KBB trade in on the car doesn't even exist so you would have to go by the ES model which will put you around $7500. Private part, around $9-$10. The problem is that companies are absolutely whoring out new cars with the encentives and rebates which in turn KILLS the used car values on the street for trade. However, used cars are now about the only way a dealer can make money so they are all WAY over charging for them even though they take them in for next to nothing.

The reality is that you will NEVER get the value out of your car. I would keep it for another year and pay it off. Then keep it as a great second car to your G35 or whatever you get.

Most have been going for around $12,500 to no more than $14,500. I'd take their suggestions and start at $14k, then maybe change the amount every other week by $500. You should see some calls soon. And yeah, putting TURBO on there will help with the younger crowd. Most people don't know that a Mazdaspeed is a Turbo, believe it or not. lol

Thanks for all the advice everyone, I already have it coming out in the newspaper tmrw but next time I renew the ad in 2 weeks if I haven't gotten any calls I'll reduce the price. Hopefully this guy a couple replies up will get ahold of me he lives like 10 mins from here!

It just depends on insurance. If my insurance is going to be more then the car payment..I'll take the bus for the rest of my life =(

for 12-13k i'll take it if god lets me lol. I live right off 185th, funny how I've never seen it.

15K!!@$#!

I paid 17K out the door.

Selling it you technically could get 15K but 12-13K is more reasonable.

its like I laugh everythign someone is trying to sell a 240 for 8K...lol.

I tried selling mine but ended up keeping it because I couldn't bear to part with it... but I set the price at 12K w/ 32K miles on it on autotrader and got about 10 calls in the first week. When people started coming and testdriving it, I couldn't stand the sight of someone else driving away with my car so I kept it! Ha. Glad I did too! But anyway, yeah I'd lower the price, and yes it did help when I changed my ad and put "turbo" in it.

having such a limited edition car would make its value stay high and make it an easy selllimited edition = limited market. if a car company thought they could sell 100,000 of a car and make a profit from it, they would make that many. they're businesses and out to make money, nothing more.

Yes this car is limited edition but the only problem is that Mazda did absoulutely 0 marketing for the damn thing so unless you're a Mazda enthusiast you wouldnt even know it existed...

I just sold mine for $14,500. That was low because I had thousands of dollars worth of mods. 2 sets of rims and tires, 1 set was BRAND new. It had everything but a built engine. 23k miles. I could have gotten more for it if I wanted to wait around or part it out, but whatever... picking up the replacement car this weekend.

Ferrari's business philosophy is to consistently build one less car than the market desires. Congrats on the G35 - one of my favorites.

The MSP sounded good when it came out, but now most people have seen other cars come along that have Much more HP/L and are Much Faster... It's going to be a hard sell.

Put a V-TEC sticker on it..

Hmm So far I have a JDM front lip, rear spoiler, front/rear splash guards added along w/ sirius satelite, an injen CAI and jdm clear corners... Debating on 19"s or 20"s and a slight drop w/ window tint :)

19"s or 20"s are pretty typical on a g35. hell the 06's come STOCK with 19"s.... wheel wells are huge on these cars... also the msp is still for sale price is very negotiable! call me at 503-888-5591 and we can split shipping costs.
