Hey, I just bought my brand new 2006 Mazda 3 s Touring 5-door this past weekend. Manual trans, Titanium grey color, upgraded to the 6-CD changer with MP3. Love the car. Just found these forums and it looks like people have a lot of good advice/things to say, so I thought I'd go ahead and register.

Black & red seats??
Is that only on the 06 5-doors?

I think the seat colors depend on the exterior color. I have the whitewater pearl hatch and mine are blue/black.

Correct. Some colors have the black w/ red and some have the black w/ blue. All the cloth seats in the 06 5-door are like this. The leather option in the Touring and Grand Touring is just plain black leather.

My car is titanium grey too (like Paradigm619's) but my seats are black w/blue.
I took a look at the American & Canadian Mazda sites and it would appear that the American titanium grey cars get black w/red seats and the Canadian ones get black w/blue....

Paradigm - Do you mind me asking what you paid? I'm looking to buy the exact same car from Anaheim Mazda (or another local Orange County dealer)?
Who was your salesman?

I paid 17,299 before taxes/fees and the stereo upgrade. My salesman was Claude Young. He's kind of an older black man. He was really nice and didn't try to screw me at all. He came to me with the price of $100 over invoice which is a great deal. I didn't have to talk him down at all. Out the door with everything, I paid around 19,400, but I also added Lojack and some other stuff. All in all, I got a pretty good deal, and Anaheim Mazda was a really easy place to buy the car. I'd definitely recommend it.

Hey! Congrats Paradigm, and welcome! I am a newbie to this forum as well, but I sure remember the day I got Virgin1.

The blk/blue combo is a bit more subdued but in my opinion, and with most colors, classier. My Rally White '04 has the same but either would've gone nicely.
I wouldn't mind if it were a little brighter blue, or more of it though . 'Not really crazy about black interiors to begin with... especially here in Texas (now you know why I chose the white car.) (sun)

That's why I'm getting my windows tinted pretty soon. It's actually remarkable how effective they are in terms of keeping your car cool. One of my friends did it to his STi and he says it is never hot in his car. It looks cool too. So once I get my shit together, I'm gonna get that done.

It does help, but don't expect miracles either.
Mine are tinted as well. The dealer had done it as a "dealer" (re: ripoff) option, before I was considering the car. They put in 35/65 on the front and 5/95 (limo) on the rear side and backlight. The State Police in Texas (DPS) are not too crazy about that last part and I have been pulled over for it. Fortunately I was not ticketed as I understand it's a $200.00 fine. That's what the dealer charged for the tint in the first place. Be careful unless you don't mind paying the fines. You'd think the police have better things to do with their time. I guess for them it's an easy target.

No the seats are not like that only on the 5 door. My girlfriend just bought 2006 Mazda 3s on Friday, the four door, Titanium Gray exterior with Red/Black Interior and she has the exact same seats. I will get her on here and posting pictures as soon as weather allows.

What should a tint job cost for 35/65 all the way around? I just picked up my 5-door on Wednesday and want to add the tint before the weather gets too warm here in So Cal...
Paradigm - I took a test drive with Claude. He was filling in for the salesman I was working with. Nice guy. I thought Anaheim Mazda did a great job of getting me out the door in a little less thanan hour, since the price was settled through my insurance's negotiating service. I'll definitely go back there if I'm considering another Mazda next time around.
