Hi guys, was wondering if any of you had some advice for me.
Well my problem is I lost the security key thing for the lug nuts on my car. (2002 protege DS) I had found a site through one of the links here that had ones that looked very much like mine, but I lost it and cant remember what post I saw it in. I think the security nuts on my car are the originals from the dealer, is it possible to just order a new security key from the dealer or will I have to find another way to get them off and if so, how will I be able to get them off? Later today I will post a pic of the security nut on my car.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

alright so I got the pic now.

if its from the dealer. You can just order a new key.
OTher wise take a dremel to it make a line and use a screw driver to unscrew it.

Dude, how big are your forearms? The lugs are torqued to about 80 ft lbs, and most likely it won't come off with a screw driver. You can however hammer on a socket that fits very tight and get it off that way. I've had to do that one before. They also sell special sockets that are reverse threaded and designed for the sole purpose of removing these types of locking lugs.

alright guys, thanx for the help, went to the dealer and bought the key and 4 security lug, they wouldnt sell me just the key. msg_freak, I thought about forcing it with a socket but didnt want to risk messing up the socket or screwing up something else in the process.

oh yeah, they whole set cost 35 at the dealer. kinda expensive compared to the 22 I saw somewhere online, (still cant figure out what site it was) but at least I got them that same day and am sure they work :).

anyways, once more, thanks
