Does anyone living in Texas know if taking out the precat screws your chance in passing the emmissions test down here? I live in Houston and I'm thinking about buying an OBX header, because i dont really see the Shorty Wagner to be an option because of all the negative feedback i've read on the boards.

Please get back to me on this question.
k thanks

As long as you don't have a check engine light you will pass.

The wagner header is a good header. The bad thing is that most likly you will need to get some welding redone just to make sure it don't leak. The header it self is good just the person that welded it sucked. I have one and gutted the precat and I like it.

As far as inspections go, TX does and will look at the car top side and under. If the don't see the precat you will fail (if he knows what to look for). They only hook up to the computer on newer cars. But if it's 5yrs older then they do the sniffer test. But that's why I kept all my stock parts. I'll just put it all back on if I fail.

Take it off and knock all the catalyst out. It will take a while trying to use a hammer and a screw driver.

You will be fine.
I have had my p5 inspected in houston with the OBX no problem.

I have also had it done in colorado where they supposedly have a visual and there wasnt any problem there either.

Yep what he said, Get you one of those long screw drivers or a long drill bit. I don't know what it's make of but I didn't breath in the dust just because! And when you are done it looks like this.
