So unfortunately my P5 was in a little accident a few weeks ago. Going back to PA after going to the Orange Bowl in Miami (yeah Penn State!), my friend was driving in FL and we got cut off really bad by a civic. 70 mph-0 skid, rear ended the civic, then got rear ended by a Suzuki suv. Cops found both the other guys to be at fault.

Damage was dented/scratced front bumper (pounded/painted), buckled hood (replaced), bent radiator support (replaced) 2 cracked tailights (replaced), destroyed rear bumper (replaced), dented hatch and broken latch (repaired), and 2 front tires severly flat spotted due to a skid with no abs.

We were able to drive the 1000 miles back to PA, but the car pulls severly right. To avoid the accident, my friend tried to swerve left. The body shop laser checked the frame and said it's straight. So I'm thinking alignment...any ideas why it pulls right despite the skid to the left? Is there anything that could be broken or bent? I'm going to take it to an alignment shop, but I just want to tell them to check for these types of things. Thanks!

i would definatley get an alignment. after getting hit from both ends your suspension has to be effected. go for a 4 wheel alignment to make sure everything is ok.

this is similar to my situation. i however had new tires put on after my accident and the car pulled. two technichians said that the pull was from my tires(one from my work the other from mazda). the mazda body shop said there was nothing wrong with my chasis/suspension. my hit was between 5-10mph. how hard was yours? with my new tires the car tracks all over the place so i'm inclined to think its the tires which makes me feel better. i just hope thats it. i'd love to try stock tires back again to see if there is a ifference.

The impacts weren't really that hard...we were going 70-75 mph but its not like we hit/were hit by standing vehicles, they were moving too.

As for the tires, I rotated the fronts, which had about 3/32nds worn off due to the skid, to the rear before leaving Florida. They still make a hell of a lot of noise and vibrate, but thats to be expected. The rears, which are now on the front, were fine. I could always check this with my summer wheels/tires, but I'm 90% sure that my tires aren't causing the pulling.

Otherwise, there are no weird noises or anything coming from the suspension. I did a quick visual on the car before giving it to the body shop, but didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Are there any other symptoms that may come with a broken or bent suspenion piece?
