My car is currently experiencing sputtering episodes while driving. Was already brought to the dealership 4 mos ago & replaced cat converter (under warranty) & also O2 sensors checked out okay. Check engine light of course would flash while it would sputter during driving then stay permanently on after espisode & returning to normal running condition.
The dealership could not replicate the code that was registering.

Welcome to the forums. :D
They should have been able to pull the codes out of the PCM. (either as a hard code or soft code along with the freezeframe data) not try to replicate them.
Its nearly impossible to tell you whats wrond without looking at it with a scantool, but to me I would point into the direction of misfire. (possible EGR valve issue)

I will take a look at the paperwork & check what they replaced when I brought at the dealership last year. I do recall the latest code they had was a misfiring code in one of the cylinders but didn't say which one. I'll get back ASAP. (sun)

Yeah, if the EGR valve gets stuck open the car will feel like it is running on a "choke-mode".....it will eventually close and the car will run normal again......
carbon build up.......have to love it!
