Magnaflow muffler

HI, I just got a custom exhaust consisting of 2.5" mandrel bent tubing with a Hi-flow cat (Vibrant). I have everything except the muffler. Now I'm considering a Magnaflow b/c I like the sound and the price/quality is quite good. It must be 2.5" inlet and fairly quiet (right now I have the Mazdaspeed muffler that drones past 3000 RPM and I'm tired of it).

There is quite a bit to choose from Magnaflow universal nufflers though. So, any advice? Is the "Race series" too loud? Has anyone done a custom job with Magnaflow stuff? I'm looking at Magnaflow for now but I also look at other makes...

I liked the race series universal - it was the first exhaust I put on my car, but the custom piping didn't last 2 years before it rusted through in several spots

ended up throwing the whole thing in the dumpster

And how about Vibrant mufflers, are they comparable to Magnaflow?
