The annual EyesOn Design (http://www.eyeson.org/) awards were presented today for the best concept and production vehicles introduced at the 2006 North American International Auto Show.

The EyesOn Design Awards are judged solely by designers, led this year by Tom Gale, Chief Judge for the awards and former head of design for Chrysler. Members of the design jury read like a who's who of all segments of the design community, this year including Chris Bangle (BMW), Trevor Creed (DaimlerChrysler), Chip Foose (Foose Design), Ken Okuyama (Pininfarina), and Fabrizio Giugiaro (Italdesign), among many others.

Three awards were given:

The Aesthetics and Innovation Award: Mazda Kabura (pictured)
The Concept Implementation Award: Chevrolet Camaro
The Functionality Award: Ferrari FXX

Go Mazda design team! Although we have another case of "bling bling" emblem usage. It's huge!

yeah, that front emblem/grill treatment is the one thing i really have a problem with. the damn car looks sexy as hell...but that emblem surround just looks completely out of place to me.
