I posted a thread previously stating the problem.

Now its getting worse and worse. I can barely get the car over 75 MPH on the highway now in 5th gear. That damn thing wont go above 4000 RPM and sometime shuts down around 3500 RPM. What could be causing this??? I have a hard time believing that all stock MSP have this problem. Thanks again for helping.

You have a more serious prob than a rev limiter, you prob have a leak somewhere in the intake pipe. Check for lose clamps or vac lines. Maybe try a carb cleaner over the pipes as someone sits in the car to see if the rpm drops. Not a very good way to check for leaks but it has worked. Give more details if possible.

whats the factory warranty on the MSP. is it 3 yr. 36K or 4 yr. 50K.
It may be a lot easier to let the dealership deal w/ it

make sure you dont have any mods on the car when you take it there. make sure your radio and everything else is stock. make sure you dont have any decals on your car. make sure none of your fluids are near empty or they'll blame you for neglegence. make sure if they ask you if you did ANYTHING to the car, say no.

Ha ha, I don't think that the stereo will matter. Even Mazda would have a hard time justifying if they tried to void the powertrain warranty because of a stereo...lol.
