Problematic trannys?

I was just surfing around here and found a few threads mentioning that the '02 protege has tranny issues.

I have a '02 Protege' 5 and I really love my car. I'm pretty hard on it and i've had it for just under a year now and have put quite a few (virtually) problem free miles on it. Its right around the 37k mark. What I want to know is if there are any solid fact about this, I dont want to be stuck with a car that has a bad tranny and is out of warranty, id rather trade it in now for a loss than deal with a problematic car.

i believe the shift forks are the weak link. Just dont force it into gear, rest your hand on the gear shifter when in gear, etc... ive got an 02 and ive been pretty hard on it at times, and have never had a problem, except it used to occaissionally grind 2nd and it was sometimes a bitch to get into 1st gear. The problems seemed to have worked themselves out (either that or i learned how to drive =) and every shift is as smooth as sandpaper...err, i mean glass =P
