engine noise at 3500 rpm

hi all, i've noticed over the past few months that when my rpm is at 3500 rpm i get a deep droning sound. it's not as loud as when a muffler is gone but it is noticeable. i was wondering if anyone has had a similar noise with their engine

I noticed a similar noise. I took my car to a muffler shop and they told me that this was a typical mazda trait. They said most mazdas with the 2.0 had some engine noise when accelerating and when traveling at certain speeds.
