yes its official. I went to replace my headlight bulbs and after I tossed the old busted bulb I realized Ineeded the adaptor off of it to put in the new bulbs... (first)

So now here I am with 1 light out on the low beam headlight, a new H7 bulb, and no adaptor to put on it so it fits the harness. Anyone know if I can get the adaptor from Napa or do I need to go to the dealer? Am I the only idiot who has done this? (boom07)

This is the first time I have ever dealt with ANY car that had an adaptor like that. Its stoooopid, but I should have read the manual before being an asshat.:D

i had to replace mine for melting from new bulbs. it was 23 bucks from the dealer for one. and they had it on the shelf

I doubt you'll find a p5 in the junkyard, and the sedans have a different headlight setup.

they are more like around 11 bux. . i remember when i threw mine out back in the day. i dont use em anymore since i have hid's. . .find another car that uses h7's and they might have the same adapter in place. . i know my honda cbr has the same adapters too so i actually have 4 of them lying around somewhere since they all have HID's now

too bad taht are like 2 hours away at my parents house or i would just send you one

I just replaced a headlight on my car.. used the manual that came with the car.. it doesn't make mention of removing that gasket.. i just figured it out when the h7 i got at Advanced didn't have it.. :)

Don't feel bad, I came this close *--> <--* to doing just that, luckily the salesman reminded me to pull the adaptor off before chucking the old bulb, otherwise I would've been in your situation.

Umm... how long was it between the time you threw the bulb away and the time to tried to put the new one in? I would expect less than a minute. Couldn't you just dig it back out of the trash? Does your trash just disappear the moment you throw it away? Do you have some magical trash can? If so, where can I get a magical trash can? JK :)

haha when i changed out my bulb i had a hard time figuring out why they looked soo difrent from the aftermarket ones... i was trying to install the after market ones and was like WTF??? it dont work so i started yanking on shit on the factory bulb and the adapter came off !!1 it was like some just lit the holly grale and the sun opened up in the dark sky's!!!! holy music and all hahaha. but the dealer has it if u can get a part NO. pepboys probly have it its an aftermarket extender
