New to MSP, dealer replaced my exhaust but it's different

I everyone! I've been trolling this forum since April 05 when I bought a 2003.5 Sunlight Silver MSP with 19K on the ticker. The has been great and is the most responsive car I have ever driven. The performance to money ratio for this car is wonderfully biased in our favor! I've been taking the car to the dealer to get the usual things that are common the MSP taken care of but this visit was different. The dealer called me at work to say the stock oval exhaust tip was "cracked" and was chipping away. They offered to replace the exhaust, which from what I know is a Racing Beat part. The deal did mention the tip would be a different style but the entire unit seem to be different. I'll have to get some pictures up soon but it's dark out. The exhaust is more of a canister design with chrome finish and a larger circular tip with the Mazdaspeed logo. Did Mazdaspeed offer another exhaust other than the oval tipped one that came on the 2003.5? Is the one they gave me made for the MP3?

yeah,they have a revised version,it's round instead of oval,IMO I think it looks better then the origanal.

they gave you the mazdaspeed exhaust that was revised instead of the racing beat exhuast. This is what they have to replace it with, it is more desirable, and commonly thought to be a good thing.

Enjoy the new exhaust.... my dealer wouldnt replace mine even when i showed them how cracked it was.

Whoa! Thanks for the super fast replies. I drove the car around a bit when I got home. It's definately louder but not fart can loud, thank god. Does this exhaust flow more? Is there less backpressure? Any dyno'ed improvement in hp?

yeah I had my stock exhaust replaced with this exhaust too. back in september. looks better, sounds ALOT better. I had to wait 5 months for it though.

I know it's a little lighter....but I don't think there are any gains from it compared to the stock racing beat axel back section.
