Please help for the valve clearance specification for my Mazda Protege 323 model 1990, with 1.8 liter SOHC engine, can't find it in the manual non under the hood. Thanks in advance. (shrug)

What manual do you have?
Get a Haynes manual. I don't have mine at the moment, so I can't check the valve clearances.

It's a owner's manual only, I am in Guatemala, can you look at it in your manual and let me know? Thanks.

Doh... What valve clearance are you talking about?
The B8 (1.8L SOHC) uses HLA's (Hydraulic Lash Adjusters). The valve lash is always zero.

Oh.... thanks for your information, so I don't have to open the valve cover, you save my lot of time. This is my daughter's car and I am trying to do a tuneup.

Well, cleaning the HLA's is a good idea still... Depends on if you have the time to do it.
Here's a tutorial on how to do it: http://www.clubprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11841
