Tokyo concept hints at aggressive Type-R styling

Honda UK has answered British hot hatch fans' prayers with the confirmation that there willbe a Type-R version of the new Civic.

A concept version of the high-performance Civic - expected to use a high-revving 2.0-litre Vtec engine to power its front wheels - will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2006, with the 200bhp production version arriving on British roads early in 2007.

Nearly 18,000 examples of the recently-departed first-generation Type-R were sold in the UK alone, and Honda will be hoping for similar success for its Swindon-built replacement.

if they came out with the new style civic in hatch form + type R varient here in the states, i'd buy one in a second.

so the uk type r will have just as much power as our civic si. they probably wont bring a type-r over to the states

I wonder if Canada will get anything like that. They got the SiR version of the last Civic, but I'm not sure what the differences were.

is that the same as the mugen concept civic dominator?

i'm kinda glad the UK focus gave the civics a run for the money, nothing like a little healthy competition to put the type-r and rs through its paces. i'm kinda hoping the focus ST or something similar to make it here in the US to give those hardcore Si fans something to sweat about.
