Today i called the body shop where my car is at, it was wrecked on the 10th, because they never got back to me about the seats seizing up. I have never had a problem before but they said apparently it has been rubbing for awhile. The appraiser said he had run into this alot since the tracking for the seats is not connected to the floorboard and is instead connected to the rocker, that it puts more strain on the and the bend outwards towards the rear of the tracking. Has anyone else had this problem? I never noticed it previously but they are saying they can't cover it.

Um... no.

I've never heard of this before. We're talking about the front seats you sit in right :) What kind of wreck was the car in? You're not a really heavy person by chance?

Also, you can easily pull the seats out and do what you want with them... just 4 bolts (and a wire). I've taken mine out multiple times for installing audio equipment. You can take a closer look at the rails this way as well.

Another thing to check is if everything is straight (if the seats have been removed before). The rails on each side of the seat are not connected to each other and are on springs. I've had the sides move out of alignment during removal and installation, where I had to move one of the rails a notch to get it back in alignment with the other side. If you don't, it would be hard to get the bolts back in without putting forces on it. Everything just falls into place if everything is lined up.

No problems here... almost 60k on the car. My brother has closer to 100k on his and he doesn't have that problem either. Sounds like BS to me.
