Traded in my P5 today for 9,275. It was a 2003.5 with 20K and all options except for automatic, and ABS.
One dealer offered me 10k for it but it didn't have the exact car i wanted, so i went to another one and they offered me $9,275, $725 less the the first dealer but they had the exact car i wanted with the exact options i wanted in stock for a very good price.
So today I'm a proud owner of a new Mars Red, black leather, sunroof, 6 spd manual mercedes-Benz c230 sport sedan.
I just want to thank everyone for sharing info and the entertainment you guys have provided me with over the past two years.

Yeah that's crazy.
Why did I get offered 11k tradein during the summer on my 2002.5 with at the time 55k miles? Damn maybe I should have traded it in when I had the chance. They were trying to rape me on a 2002 Miata with 44k miles for 16,900.. wasn't in extraordinary condition either.. curbed wheels, rock chipped front.

pics are coming over the weekend when I'll have some free time, and I don't really post much because i search before i ask questions and almost all topics have already been covered, or i just don't like to repeat what someone else has said

I had a bmw and another mercedes dealer offer me 10K, but i was really set on what i wanted and this dealer had it and I had to have it, plus i wanted it before christmas. I bet if i was going with another mazda at a mazda dealer i could have gotten more.

Exactly! That trade in was way too low. I'd never let them do that to me. But then again, it was a Mercedes you stepped into and that's quite a difference. I'm not even going to ask.

hopefully your p5 will go to a more appreciative owner. j/k
those c230s are pretty nice, especially since they got rid of the blown-4 and dropped in a v6. definalty a trade up. (thumb)

It's so sad that there are so many "sold the P5" threads now.
Congrats on the new car.

buh bye homie
my idea of depreciation is about 1k a yr .. that would mean that i would let go of my p5 (sunroof,6cd,33k) for about 12k after 2.4yrs of ownership

Same here...it's been paid off for well over a year now...why would I want to get myself into more payments when I have a perfectly good car for 0/month. Sure, the WRX is tempting, but I like my car too much to part with it.

Dezerter81,
I guess I'll be seeing you in the Benz Forums. I drive a 2005 Mercedes Benz AMG E55 and my Protege 5 is my daily driver. For some reason I like the way my Protege 5 drives compare to my E55. Anyway, congrats on your new Benz! :)

I've always had a soft spot for Mercedes, especially manuals. And especially since I feel stabbed in the back by the automotive division of BMW these days. At least Mercedes has always been basically what it is. (Yeah the whole Chrysler thing... I'm purposely ignoring that I know. :) )
