Yup, I know it has been a very long time since I posted but I am in the Military and out of the country. My wife was driving my car and my front end was run over by a 1994 Chevy Suburban (which rolled over). There were no injuries other than my car and the suburban. I wish I could discuss more about the accident but there is a on-going criminal investigation. So for now I will describe it:
3 engine mounts broken
Engine rolled back into firewall
Engine Block Cracked
Firewall breached
Both axles pushed into drive-train
Fiber Images Hood bent and buckled
Underside of A-pillar at firewall colapsed
The Damage is estimated at 10,000$ and was ruled a total loss yesterday. I will have pictures from the adjuster within two days. I am very glad I have GAP insurance considering our vechicles depreciation value. So thats it, I am not sure on what aftermarket equipment I will be allowed to salvage. Not to mention I have to find a friend that is available to strip it. The cabin of the car is fully intact.
Furture Car is undecided:
Mazda3
Scion TC
??????
Any suggestions welcome

Man, that is horrible news! Glad to hear she is ok, and that the SUV suffered a totalling fate as well.
Good to hear you plan to strip it. That Racing Beat exhaust will sell quick if it is not busted up. Heck, The hood prop kit might be salvageable if not, just for the brackets.
Bottom line, glad to hear no injuries, I am sure it was scary. Good luck, and be sure when you go to part it out, that there are pics in the FS section that meet the new rules, as per the sticky.

I think from a business persective you have to stay with the Mazda family. It appears you have an established relationship in a pretty underserved aftermarket community. Good vendors are hard to come by so keep up the good work and get a 3s.
BTW, if I were spending you money on a new car I might get a tC w/ supercharger and LSD.

Jesus Dave, Glad to hear that everyone's Okay.
You guys are from Las Vegas, right?
I think we met at the VegasMazdas BBQ that was "Supposed" to happen at Lone Mountain park, but we ended up circling the park for an hour waiting for people to come and everyone flaked, LOL.
Let me know if you need any help or advice in dealing with Insurance adjusters. I've been dealing with shitty Insurance adjusters and shady Auto Body shops for a month now since my wife's P5 got hit and I'll tell ya, nothing gets results faster than calling these bastards EVERY FREAKING DAY.
In the Mazda3 Vs Scion tC question, I personally went with a tC. Hands Down, nothing in its price range compares in terms of all the goodies you get standard for the price.

Glad to hear your wife is alright. I wonder how the hell the SUV was damaged? I'd think a suburban would just roll over the top of a P5, guess I was wrong.
Scion Tc VS Mazda3 Sedan I'd hands down pick the Tc. However, I might choose the Mazda3 if its the sport wagon..cuz I have a major problem with cars with trunks. Hence when choosing between a Tc and a P5 I chose the P5.

Anyway, if you want someone to pull stuff off and your allowed to let me know I would be more then happy to help you out with it if I can find some time. Let me know and I can hook it up and strip that sucker down for ya.

Actually, I need this help right away the insurance company said I can have pretty much everything provided it does not deal with the front end. I have to get this claim settled so i can get the Gap insurance check and the wife can buy my new car. My phone number here is 702- If you can help immediately give me a call cause they pretty much said as long as I tell them I am taking it I can have it. Believe if you help me I will hook you up when I come back in town Febuary 11th I will be home in Vegas for good.

Thanks all for the kind words. It looks as though there will be a few parts to sell. I have a Brand New Kenwood DVD player in it. There are two sets of brand new speakers and my exhaust and wow to much to list. Ok well thanks for the advice on the cars if anyone has any words on replacements let me know it will not be a P5.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I was undecided between the two you mentioned and a wrx.
I went with the 3s. The wrx didnt impress me, the tc didnt have enough trunk space for what I was looking for, but was a REAL nice car though.
The 3 fit what I need the best. Im happy with my choice. This time of year is pretty good for deals too. (cheers) Good luck man.

Yep I met you at the BBQ, I am who you remember. My family is in Vegas as I will be back from Korea on the 11th of FEB to hopefully stay for a while. The insurance company is giving me 12,300 for the car and that is pretty much fair market value. So I am not upset, USAA has been awesome to my wife through her ordeal and I am not upset. The GAP insurance will fill the small void and hopefully I will have a new car soon so the wife can drop the Hyundai crappy rental she has. As for the TC I am nervous about reliabily issues with the body hardware. I have seen a few articles that mention this as a issue.

Dave, haven't been on here all day. I will call this morning around 8:30 a.m. and probably end up talking with your wife I assume.
Biggest Question: So where is the car.
Let me know what you want me to pull off of it also or should I just go crazy with it and pull everything off the back of the car.
Here is what I was thinking:
Interior:
All speakers, radio (DVD player, etc), Shift knob, window switches, gauge bezel and gauges, rear cargo tray or cover (whatever is there), rear sub (I think you had one right)
Exterior:
Side Mirrors, Rear Tails, Exhaust, rear AWR suspension stuff, Side skirts if they are straight, rear bumper (you never know man)
I really don't know what else you had on the car so let me know. I could take Cory's 6 if there is a bunch of stuff to pull off so I have more room. I could probably call up Tim or Chris who has a truck to help with putting stuff in their truck. Anyway, I'll call this morning and figure it all out.

John your the best, I so appreciate this you don't even know. Whatever they will let you take. Do what you have time for I think you should leave a list with my wife and she has to give to the adjuster perhaps. Not sure if I can take the stock equipment but they said anything aftermarket you can take. So I am pretty sure they would not miss the rear sub. Just cut half of the wire harness with it so it can be used later. The rear cargo tray can be taken I am sure. Rip and strip buddy. I have the stock hood and the cold air intake and my turbo mani that never got used. Man I will cut you in on some of the proceeds from the stuff if they let you take stock stuff. Thanks again John I really appreciate you helping me.

Ok ya'll. I'll probably be going down on Friday to strip Dave's car for him. I'll find out from the Body Shop all of what they are going to let me take off for Dave. Anyway, I'll take pics while I'm there as well, especially of the fiber images hood. If I can, I'll see if they'll let me take the OE: EVO vents off the hood as I'm sure someone may want them.

glad to hear your wife is ok. Are you stationed at Osan AFB? My son was there 11/2 years ago then in AZ with the 75th fighter wing. He transferred over to the guard and got home last week. Glad to see that you will be coming home too, I give you a heartfelt thanks for the job you are doing.
about your prting out I might be interested in the stereo and exhaust(I think that I saw that it was a Racing Beat) when things settle down and you figure out prices and stuff let me know, I had put together a system and was waiting for the amp to show when I had to cancel the order(daughters laptop crapped out-needed to be fixed for school) anyhow again glad your wife is doing good and Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Thanks, the exhaust is very badly bent. The only thing that is any good is the axleback.

well when you figure out prices let me know, I still might be interested in the axle back. how old is it years or months or milage? are you going to be selling the stereo or were you gonna hold onto it?
IMO you should stay in the family and go with either the Mazda3 wgn or the Mazda6 wgn. Both can be very nice looking and handling vehicles with reliability and practicality.
