I need to change my oil, but no one can find what oil filter I need. I don't want to go to the stealership and buy one because they will charge me too much. Any info?

After taxes and shipping, you'd be better off going to your local Pep Boys / Auto Zone / Murray's and paying $11 for a Fram oil filter.

Or get in on one of these auctions for a 4-pack:

Maybe....maybe not. The goal is not to pay shipping or to buy from a site that charges tax. For me it great since I have four cars in the household and I actually plan ahead for what maintenance parts I'll need 3-4 months out.
Hook-up a buddy or relatives to jack the total, (get their cash before turning over the parts):D
Anyway, my purchases average $65-$80 each time.

I recommend Mazdastuff.com for oil filters. Very cheap at $4.96 - http://www.mazdastuff.com/product.cfm?ProductID=2168

If you buy $100-plus, shipping is free - http://www.mazdastuff.com/contactus.cfm

Good luck.

Amazon also has Purolator filter cartridges for the Mazda 2.3L.

Still don't trust those aftermarket o-rings.... but hey, we haven't had a quick lube buy a motor in a while.

But the local Valvoline chain (8+ stores) still buys thier filters from us.
