(pissed) Ok here's the story:

It was just supposed to be a regular oil change. When i pulled it into the garage it osunded a bit too loud for me...not good loud..like "oh shit my exaust be leaking" loud. so i jacked the car up and the first thing i see if chunks of old oil and dirt build up all over the pan and just everywhere and some oil drops.(ofcorse the seals are done to shit) once i examined that i looked for the exaust leak, and what do i find..a cracks exaust manifold (pissed) . First thought: field trip o "Pull-a-Part" for a used manifold. Got a manifold of a 95 protege(the only one they had) dirty as hell, covered in layers of crap.(pay about $15 or so for it) got home and started to take the car apart. (gun)

Steps to a killer party::

1) drained the oil
2) removed oil pan(cleaned it w/ carb cleaner and a soft metal brush to get the old seal of)
3) remove the next section(seal broken as well..he middle piece that the pan attaches to)(clean that as well free of every bit of sealant)
4)cleaned the seal crap from the bottom of the engine piece(at this point you can see the bottom of the rods and pistons and all the good stuff)
5)start cleaning the "new" manifold, clean it free of all the dirt and everything.
6) remove from grille, radiator(antifreeze fun began right around there)
7) remove the heat shield and the manifold along w/ the beginning pieces of the exhaust(pic below)
8) applied new seals and bolt everything back together(to correct torque)
9) add all the fluids after letting the seals harden (oil, antifreeze)
10)test drive- sounds like new, feels like new, drives better than ever= i think this car is going to travel 160K more (yippy)

now for the pictures, i know yall want the pictures (silly) :::

at the end all i had to deal w/ was a good ammount of killed brain cells. this took me a week or so to do, because of finals at school, probably would of taken like 2 days tops. I spent a good ammount of Carb Cleaner on this..very good ammount..some nasty shit but works awesome!!

END of long ass thread (yippy) (nana) (breakn)
