well we had this nasty snow storm in maine today and work of course didn't get called so i trudge out and get goin... i have a 37 mile commute that takes on a good day 45-50 minutes (mostly back roads no h-way at all i do live in maine) well i live inland near the base of the mtns and work near the coast. so i begin my journey in about 8 inches of snow and about 20 miles into it turns to freezing rain... no biggie about 5 more miles of this it turns to sleet and then almost immdediatly to rain... uh oh... all the snow clogged all the drains so i reached the city area and there is at least 6 inch of standing water everywhere and in some instances i saw over 2 feet of water... i saw a taxi cab sinking in over 3 ft of water at one point... needless to say i turned around and didn't go through that at all... in a couple of instances i had to go through almost 2 feet, i felt the car start to float a bit... i have to say the tires worked great but i did not expect the severe flooding... gotta love maine!! you don't like the weather just wait a bit or drive 10 miles it will change....
