hey everyone, nice to see a good protege community. I'm new to the mazda world about a month ago I sold my 93 Integra and picked up an 03 protege at first I was reluctant, but the car has grown on me big time, the only thing I hate about it is the fact that it is an automatic anyone ever do a auto to manual swap on one of these cause it is definitely in the near future as I have done it numerous times to hondas of all nature....anywho I would also like to add that I am a boost junkie and decided to boost this car as well, but I do not want to go crazy like I did on my last integra any suggestions on turbokits?? thanks for any advice

Sell the auto... look hard for a stick... then start worrying about boost, my 0.02 :)

wagner and begi also make turbo kits for our cars. welcome to the forums.

too big of a pain in the ass to convert to manual on a protege???

Just curious, why would you buy an automatic if you already knew you'd have to swap it out?
M/Ts are cheaper (harder to find, yes) anyway, and now you've got a PITA tranny swap to look forward to.
Oh, and welcome to the forum. Forget about the Wagner kit, too, 'cuz I think they have gone the way of the woolly mammoth.

origionally there was no plan to modify this car at all and it was only gonna be a daily driver, but then I stumbled upon this site and BAM!! my boost killer instincts kicked in and now I want to mod this car

there was once a yellow car here in texas that was automatic with a HIboost turbo set up...If its hard to get a swap from ATX to manual, this could be a good thing for you.. The cars sode name is PIRANA MOBILE..

Ive read up on that kit (I am not a fan of kits) but I like it a lot and will more than likely purchase the kit in the very near future, probably before i do the 5speed conversion
