my car consistently burns out the passenger side low beam. but if i flip it to high beam the bulb works. it doesn't matter what brand i've tried several. and it takes it a few months. like these bulbs were bought back in july and it now just went out.

anyone got an idea?

thanks

OEM bulbs last the longest. If you get aftermarkets, then expect them to burn out frequently. As for your highbeams working, it's because the bulb has 2 filaments (sp?), 1 for low and 1 for high.

yes but it is always the same headlight, and just the low beam. consistently, no matter what brand bulb.

edit* the bulbs i have now even carry a lifetime warranty on them so i will be sending the set back. so you would think that it would last longer than 5 months.

you have a slight moisture problem. Alot of times it wont show condensation, and you wont have a clue its happening. The bulbs blowing are a sign. Here are a couple of suggestions.

Take off the headlight and bake it foe a few minutes. Dont open it, this will help get any moisture out.

(This one only do if you not confortable with baking)
Take off the bulb.

Get a hairdryer or heat gun.

Get a shop vac, or a good vacume cleaner with a hose.

heat up the headlight housing untill you feel a warm stream coming from inside through

the headlight bulb hole.

Then place and hold the vacume hose in the back of the housin covering the bulb hole.

Start up the vacume and keep the heat going with the hairdryer(best with a friend)

Do this for about 3-4 min

Then place the bulb back and your done. Dont do this in the early morning, dusk, or on a rainy day!!!

Good luck.

i checked it out at work while putting my old bulbs back in. and i noticed the grommet on that side had a slight tear in it. so i'm guess that is where the moisture is coming from.

Sorry, I forgot to add to this. If you have daytime running lights, they run on the low beams, therefore they are always on. It's actually the only car I can think of that has this on the lows, every other car seems to use the highs because they get less use. Oh well, good luck with it.
